About the Group

This group will focus on the following intentions:

  • Fostering a safe space to share experiences where culture is celebrated

  • Encouraging dialogue about the microaggressions and negative stereotypes that may keep you from showing up authentically in the workplace

  • Acknowledging the struggle of navigating institutional oppression - specifically in this current political climate and civil rights movement

  • Using a process-oriented approach with a here-and-now focus to build awareness of how you engage and experience yourself and those around you

  • Incorporating mindfulness, self-compassion, and realistic self-care strategies to reduce burn out

Is this group for me?

This group is ideal for those who:

  • Identify as a womxn of color (age 25+), located in the state of Texas and are currently employed or seeking employment. Regardless of the length of your career, profession or full/part-time status; all are welcome.

  • Are open and willing to engage in meaningful dialogue free of judgement. There are no freebies in group therapy - you get what you give. No previous counseling experience necessary!
