Fees + Cancellation
My standard rate for an individual session is $210 and $230 for couples and family sessions. All sessions last 50-55 minutes unless we determine otherwise. I typically raise my fee a small amount each year (no more than $5) in order to keep up with cost of living increases. Clients will always receive at least 60 days notice of fee increases. If cost is an obstacle to working with me I highly recommend searching the providers from the Inclusive Therapists directory as well as contacting local counseling clinics to ask for sliding fee scale options.
Payment can be made in the form of cash, check, HSA or credit card and is due at the beginning of each session. I also accept vouchers from the Loveland Foundation. I’m happy to provide monthly or quarterly statements to submit to your insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement, so please inquire directly with your provider before starting services.
A holistic commitment to therapy, in addition to consistent attendance allows us to build the therapeutic relationship required for the best outcomes possible. As such, clients will be charged the full fee for no shows or cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice. If I can reschedule you within the same calendar week, the late cancellation fee will be waived.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
The decision to remain off of insurance panels is rooted in my commitment to offering the best services possible without constraints of time-limited coverage or diagnosis codes. Thus the timeline of our work together is co-created and informed by your goals, capacity and progress. We’re not here to force results on some arbitrary timeline. Additionally, by minimizing administrative tasks, I am free to seek further professional development and research in the areas that support our work together.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of sessions?
Therapy tends to be more of a long-term approach focused on deep healing, untangling from old narratives and fostering internal emotional shifts that promote increased agency and empowerment. Initially, I recommend meeting weekly so that we can establish a relationship and identify your goals. Once you feel that you've made significant progress towards your goals, there is always the option to transition to biweekly or monthly sessions. Sessions typically last 50-55 minutes, however some clients benefit from an extended 80 minute session length.
